Nearly 66% of respondents to MAP's 2020 Happiness Payment Report rated their card processor as very important to their credit union's success. That was an increase of more than 12 percentage points from the prior survey, according to an announcement dated February 2, 2021 on MAP's February 21 archive page.
The research surveyed 214 US credit union executives and department directors in December 2020. Their functions included operations, card management, risk, lending, finance and IT. The findings therefore describe institutional respondents' views during that period, rather than a survey of credit union members.
Respondents also rated their own card programs. MAP reported that 56.54% were very happy with their debit programs and 57.01% with their credit programs. Chief Executive Cyndie Martini linked the processor's growing importance
