anatae gift cards have appeared in the Japanese Android Google Play catalogue, adding an experience-gifting brand to the store’s merchant-card selection. In a September 14 report, Jetstream writer Jun Ishii documented the addition with screenshots of the catalogue and anatae’s purchase page. He described the change as a mid-September expansion. [S01]

The purchase-page screenshot clearly shows selectable amounts of ¥1,000, ¥2,000, ¥3,000, ¥5,000 and ¥10,000, with further choices extending beyond the visible area. Ishii reported that the addition brought the catalogue he observed to 13 brands. These observations do not establish an exhaustive denomination list or the first day on which every eligible account could buy the cards. [S01]

An experience balance sold through an app store

anatae sells gift value that recipients can use to choose experiences on its own service. Its product information describes options including dining, spas, beauty treatments and outdoor activities. Gift codes add value for experience purchases, and unused amounts can remain as an account balance. [S03]

Google’s official guidance explains that third-party brand cards sold through Google Play are issued by the relevant merchant and redeemed with that issuer. The catalogue and available amounts depend on the buyer’s country. Customers can buy for themselves or deliver a digital card through a shared link or email. [S02]

The five fully visible amount buttons illustrate how buyers could choose a budget within the observed Google Play listing. They are face values offered in that September 14 screenshot, not sales volumes or the complete range available to every account. The merchant's own storefront is a separate channel with its own product terms. [S01][S03]

That creates a discovery and purchase channel for anatae beyond its own storefront. Redemption stays with the experience provider, while the card is purchased within a familiar digital marketplace. Neither the report nor the official product information provides sales volume or commercial terms for the placement.

The payment boundaries also matter. Google says Play balances and Play Points cannot fund these purchases, and gift-card purchases normally do not earn Play Points. Merchant-specific redemption conditions still apply. [S02]

The addition follows an earlier expansion that Ishii documented on September 7, when his catalogue contained 12 brands. anatae was absent from that earlier list. The September 14 observation concerns the new brand listing, rather than the initial launch of Google Play’s merchant gift-card feature. [S01][S04]
