Busveilingen.nl announced a digital gift card on September 29, adding a prepaid gifting option to its coach day-trip business. The Dutch travel brand described eight denominations, from EUR10 to EUR500, with delivery by email and redemption through its own booking checkout. [S01]

The product separates the gift purchase from the choice of journey. A buyer supplies a defined amount of travel spending, while the recipient selects the destination, departure date and suitable pickup location from the operator's available offer.

Eight prepaid amounts leave the journey choice to the recipient

According to the announcement and product page, each emailed gift card contains a unique code. The recipient applies that code when booking on Busveilingen.nl. If the trip costs more than the available balance, the difference can be paid using another payment method. Any unused gift value remains available for a subsequent booking. [S01] [S02]

The denominations are EUR10, EUR25, EUR50, EUR100, EUR150, EUR200, EUR250 and EUR500. A lower value can contribute toward a trip without covering its full price; a larger balance may be used across bookings if it is not spent at once.

The current product page states a five-year validity period and says the card can fund all of the operator’s trips. That describes the branded balance’s scope; it does not guarantee a place on a particular departure. The travel FAQ separately says itinerary changes depend on availability and describes cancellation terms for an already booked day trip. Those trip conditions do not establish a refund policy for an unused gift card. [S02] [S04]

This is a gift balance within the brand's travel channel. The company does not describe a general-purpose payment card or acceptance at unrelated travel merchants. It has not named an external gift-card processor or distribution partner in the announcement.

Busveilingen.nl sells coach excursions with pickup locations in the Netherlands and destinations elsewhere in Europe. Its current offer includes city day trips and seasonal Christmas-market journeys. The announcement cites Luxembourg, Cologne and Paris as examples of trips a recipient might choose. [S01] [S03]

The commercial mechanism is straightforward: the brand receives a prepaid commitment to future bookings, while the giver avoids choosing a particular itinerary on the recipient's behalf. Balance carryover and split payment make that commitment usable when the gift amount and the eventual booking price differ.

The launch material provides product mechanics, rather than operating results. It does not disclose gift-card sales, redemption rates, incremental bookings or a profitability effect. The September event is the brand's announcement of the new gifting product, not evidence of a wider travel-market first or measured demand.
