Buyatab reported its second consecutive inclusion in Deloitte's Canadian Technology Fast 50 ranking on November 15, 2018. The program ranked technology companies using revenue growth over the preceding four years.

The announcement linked Buyatab's growth with its merchant partnerships and online gift card infrastructure. Chief executive Matias Marquez credited the company's staff and the development of technology for digital gifting.

The eligibility conditions listed in the 2018 release included at least four years in business, revenue of at least $5 million, a Canadian headquarters, proprietary technology and research and development activity in Canada. It also listed an R&D investment requirement of at least 5% of gross revenue.

Buyatab supported gift card purchases through merchant websites with recipient delivery by email or text message. It described clients in the United States, Canada and Europe and compatibility with mobile wallets including Apple Wallet and Google Pay.

The Canadian program ran alongside Deloitte's North American Technology Fast 500. Buyatab's announcement concerned its inclusion in the 2018 ranking and did not provide a new customer deployment or a separate gift card transaction-volume result.
