Diggecard has suggested ways employers can include gift cards within a broader approach to employee wellbeing. Its March 1, 2023 guide cites the CIPD’s 2022 survey, which reported that 51% of organizations took a strategic approach to health and wellbeing while one in five did nothing to improve it.
The recommendations extend beyond rewards. Diggecard discusses a comfortable working environment, clear communication, work-life balance, development opportunities and access to support such as wellness programs.
Recognition is one part of that approach. The company proposes gift cards for health- and wellbeing-related brands as a way to provide employees with a choice, while keeping acknowledgment of good work separate from the other measures.
Where an employer does not fund the gift itself, Diggecard describes offering access to a platform for purchasing discounted cards. Its article featured nine brands from its portfolio in that context.
The guide does not measure a health outcome from using those cards. It presents them as one tool an organization might include alongside its working practices and employee support.
