NTT Card Solution and Merpay have brought Mercari Points redemption into the EJOICA electronic-gift service, with both companies confirming availability from September 30. Organisations can buy a dedicated Mercari Points gift product or include the points among recipients’ EJOICA Select Gift choices. [S01][S02]

The operational launch follows a June 30 announcement that planned service for September, subject to possible timing changes. The latest releases confirm the service is available and set out how recipients obtain and use the value. [S01][S03]

With Point @ Gift (Mercari Points), a recipient enters a gift ID to exchange it for points. The official product page describes authentication of the recipient’s Mercari membership before registration of the code. Purchasing organisations order the codes from NTT Card Solution for distribution through campaigns, promotions and reward programmes. [S02][S04]

EJOICA Select Gift provides a second route. A company or municipality chooses the available redemption options, then distributes the gift through email, SMS, a web display or a card. The recipient selects an electronic-money or points option on the registration site; Mercari Points now joins that catalogue. [S02]

Merpay says the resulting points are worth ¥1 each and expire after 180 days, counting the day they are granted. They are issued as free points. Besides purchases on Mercari, they can be applied to Mercard or Merpay credit payments for purchases at physical and online shops. The point-validity period applies after redemption and should not be confused with the original gift code’s expiry. [S02][S04]

The partners position the service for corporate incentives and municipal benefits, including programmes connected with reuse and resident participation. They have not announced customer uptake or redemption volumes. The confirmed change is access to a new redemption destination through NTT’s existing gift distribution channels. [S01][S02]
