FareHarbor has introduced an integration that lets guests buy and redeem Factor4 gift cards within its online booking flow. Announced on September 17, the connection checks the available balance with Factor4 during checkout, while Factor4 retains responsibility for gift card balances, transaction records and reporting.

FareHarbor describes a connected programme spanning experience bookings, retail, lodging and in-person sales. The announcement does not specify pricing, geographic availability or measured improvements in conversion and staff workload.

A gift card programme inside the reservation flow

The booking platform serves tour, activity, rental and attraction businesses. FareHarbor says more than 23,000 companies use its software worldwide. That figure describes its wider customer base, rather than the number using the new gift card connection.

Factor4 already supplies physical and digital gift card programmes and integrations with point-of-sale and ecommerce systems. Its company profile describes online and in-store sales, delivery by email or text, and applications that let merchants process gift card transactions on mobile devices. The FareHarbor connection extends that model into an experience operator’s reservation process.

What operators should check

For operators, the practical question is whether a recipient can turn stored value into a booking without asking staff to reconcile separate systems. Our assessment is that connecting redemption to the reservation step is the commercially significant part of this launch. The announcement establishes the capability; its effect on completed bookings will depend on how each business implements and uses it.

Operators evaluating the connection should confirm how their own programme handles refunds, cancellations and bookings that cost more than the remaining balance. Those operational details matter when a gift moves from a retail purchase to a dated experience.
