GiftCrowd has outlined how its group-gifting process combines contributions from several people into one recipient-selected gift. The guide, originally published January 5, 2023, discusses birthdays, graduations, workplace occasions and other shared celebrations.

Its starting point is that participants can contribute different amounts instead of each buying a separate item. The company says contribution amounts can remain private, with the collection taking place online so people do not need to be in the same location.

The organizer creates a page and shares a link, while the service collects contributions and tracks them. GiftCrowd presents that workflow as a way to reduce individual collection and payment follow-up.

The recipient then chooses from the available gift card catalog and can divide the value between more than one brand. That shifts the final brand selection from the organizer to the person receiving the gift.

The company’s argument is about coordination and choice: a group can combine its budget without requiring one participant to guess which product everyone should buy.
