GiftCrowd described online group collections and recipient-selected gifts for parent organisations in an April 14, 2024 guide ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week. Its platform offered more than 450 brands at the time, with teachers able to divide their gift across several selections.

The company suggested choosing gifts around interests outside the classroom as well as practical needs. Examples ranged from books and hobby equipment to workshops, event tickets and items intended for everyday use.

GiftCrowd also presented recipient selection as an alternative when families do not know a teacher’s preferences. It said its platform offered a choice of more than 450 brands at the time, allowing teachers to select gifts across multiple brands.

The group-gifting workflow let parent organisations collect contributions through the online platform. The company said combining contributions could provide a larger individual gift than families purchasing separate presents.

Founder and chief executive Eshed Doni linked the service to recognising educators’ work. The post described seasonal gift ideas and existing platform capabilities, without a new product launch or survey of teacher preferences.
