GiftCrowd has set out several ways friends can combine their budgets for a bridal shower gift, from paying for an experience to contributing toward a larger purchase. The company’s July 28, 2023 guide presents group gifting as an alternative to each guest choosing a separate item.
One suggestion is to fund and organize the shower itself. The group can divide the venue, food, invitations and activities, with the celebration becoming the gift. The guide also proposes a shared contribution toward a bachelorette event, shaped around the recipient’s interests rather than a fixed party format.
For a physical present, GiftCrowd recommends looking at higher-priced items on the couple’s registry that may be beyond one contributor’s budget. It gives examples such as a stand mixer or wine refrigerator, where pooled contributions can support a purchase already selected by the recipient.
The company’s other option is to let the recipient make the final spending decision. GiftCrowd collects contributions online and makes the combined value available for selection from its gift card catalog, avoiding the need for the group to agree on a single product.
At the time of the guide, GiftCrowd described a choice of more than 400 brands. Its examples included Amazon.com and Crate & Barrel for household purchases, alongside Celebrity Cruises and Delta for travel-related gifting. Those catalog details reflect the offering described in the July 2023 article.
