GiftCrowd has set out a process for parent organizations collecting gifts for teachers and school staff. Its February 27, 2023 guide recommends agreeing a purpose and appointing a coordinator before inviting contributions.

The company advises working with school administrators on a complete, current recipient list. It specifically notes that support staff should be considered alongside teachers so that a school-wide initiative does not unintentionally omit people.

Communication is the next step: families need the occasion, contribution deadline and intended gifts. GiftCrowd suggests sharing updates during the collection and reporting the final amount and delivery timing afterward.

The guide also recommends collecting students’ drawings, stories and personal messages to accompany the monetary gift. Those can form part of a presentation or school event, where one is planned.

Within its own service, a parent organizer creates the gift page and families choose which gifts to join. GiftCrowd collects contributions directly, and recipients receive their messages and a total balance to allocate across a catalog described at the time as more than 400 brands. The company also describes an online thank-you option for recipients.
