The Municipality of The Hague reopened its annual gift-card applications for caregivers and volunteers on October 14, with the 2026 window remaining open through December 24. Approved applicants can choose from more than 100 gift cards in a dedicated webshop. [S01] [S02]

The previous edition provides a documented operating baseline: the city’s 2025 Wmo annual report, published in June 2026, records 17,044 applications. Those figures describe the completed 2025 window, not demand or approvals for the newly opened 2026 round. [S03]

Two eligible roles accounted for 14,549 approved applications in 2025

The report divides the 14,549 approved applications into 7,832 caregiver awards and 6,717 volunteer awards. These are programme applications, not a count of all caregivers or volunteers in the city. They should not be treated as unique people, because qualifying applicants can seek recognition separately for both roles. [S02] [S03]
