Kongsberg Næringsforum has stopped offering postal delivery for its Sentrumsgavekort local gift cards after some mailed cards failed to reach their recipients. Orders must instead be collected from its reception at Kirketorget 4 in Kongsberg, Norway.
Collection requirements and existing card deadlines
The change applies to orders placed from September 21, according to the organisation's October 2 announcement [S01]. It said removing the postal option was intended to ensure cards reached customers safely and apologised for the inconvenience.
The announcement does not quantify the missing deliveries or identify their cause. It also does not set out a replacement or reimbursement policy for the affected orders. Those limits matter when assessing the change: the disclosed problem is failed delivery, with no stated finding of theft or fraud.
For buyers arranging gifts for recipients elsewhere, the new collection requirement changes how an order reaches its recipient. Kongsberg Næringsforum continues to direct cardholders to its existing online service for checking balances and participating businesses.
The announcement concerns distribution of an established local gift-card programme. It does not describe a new card launch or a change to where existing balances can be spent.
A separate programme notice published on May 20 sets out the deadlines that customers must manage after receiving a card. From August 1, Kongsberg Næringsforum permits renewal only within three months after expiry. It specifies ordinary validity of 12 months from issue and a maximum renewal point 15 months after issue. Those are contractual milestones expressly stated by the operator, not an estimate of postal delivery time or a newly extended spending period. [S02]

The 15-month milestone is the latest point for renewal of an expired card, not an automatic 15-month spending period. The policy explicitly states 12 months of validity and renewal up to three months after expiry. It does not specify the duration of a renewed card or remedies for cards lost in the post.

The current order page repeats the collection requirement and describes validity as 12 months from purchase, while the renewal notice uses issue date. It also says cards cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash and that lost cards are not replaced. These general conditions do not explain what happens to the particular mailed orders that never arrived; the October announcement provides no case-specific reimbursement procedure. [S03]
iGive’s programme page directs purchases back to Kongsberg Næringsforum and lists a NOK 20 administration charge per card. Its generic digital-gifting wording does not establish that postal delivery has reopened. The distribution change and the separate expiry policy concern different stages of the same customer journey: obtaining the card, then using or renewing its balance within the published limits. [S04]
