Lelystad's Lelypas gift-card programme has added Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet through an arrangement that converts local-card balances into the outlet's own gift card.
Conversion moves spending into the outlet’s own card rules
Stichting Lelypas announced the partnership on September 23 [S01], with availability from October 1. It said the addition brought the Lelypas network to approximately 50 places where holders can use their balance.
Customers first take their Lelypas card to the Information Centre at Batavia Stad's main entrance. Staff convert the amount the customer chooses into a Batavia Stad Gift Card, which can then be used at participating stores in the centre.
The conversion step is central to the arrangement. The announcement does not describe Lelypas itself being accepted directly at each outlet checkout. Nor does the network total represent the number of shops accepting the Batavia Stad card.
The card received after conversion is a separate product. Batavia Stad’s live Giftify portal links conditions setting standard card balances between EUR 10 and EUR 250, with a EUR 250 point-of-sale transaction limit. The partnership notice does not set a separate conversion tariff or explain whether any special exchange limits apply. [S02]

Those conditions also specify 24 months from the Batavia Stad card’s purchase date and restrict spending to participating physical outlets, excluding online transactions. The partnership notice does not explain how that start date is recorded for a conversion, so an automatic expiry extension cannot be inferred. Remaining Lelypas value stays governed by its own terms. Lelypas already covers local shops, hospitality businesses, cultural organisations and service providers. The operator presents the expanded choice as relevant to employers buying anniversary, thank-you or Christmas gifts for employees and business contacts.
The partnership announcement does not disclose transaction volumes or financial terms. Its immediate significance is the additional spending route for an existing local gift-card balance.
