Nissenren Shizuoka will end local sales of JCB gift cards, VJA gift cards and JCB-QUO cards on January 28, 2027. Its news listing dates the advance notice to September 9, 2026; JCB-QUO stock is available only while supplies last. The distributor gives no reason for the broader local exit and does not announce a refund programme. [S01][S02][S03]
The outgoing local range carries different purchase and spending values
The distributor’s current JCB-QUO schedule prices the JPY 500 card at JPY 530 and the JPY 1,000 card at JPY 1,040. The JPY 30 and JPY 40 differences cover part of the issuing cost, according to its product page. They are additional purchase cost, not extra redeemable value: respectively 6% and 4% of face value. Prices and face values are per card. No consumption tax is added to the card price in the distributor’s terms. Remaining stock quantities, actual sales and any future availability are not disclosed; JCB-QUO sales may end earlier if stock runs out.

| Category | Spendable face value | Local selling price |
|---|---|---|
| JPY 500 JCB-QUO | 500 JPY | 530 JPY |
| JPY 1,000 JCB-QUO | 1,000 JPY | 1,040 JPY |
The same local schedule requires cash for JCB-QUO and includes a card case or envelope without charge. Nissenren’s JCB gift-card panel lists a JPY 1,000 denomination payable in cash or with selected JCB cards, while its VJA panel lists JPY 1,000 and cash-only payment. A JCB paper gift box costs JPY 110 including tax; the displayed VJA paper box is free. These are distributor-specific conditions, not a single rule for every outlet selling those brands. [S02][S04]
For local collection, unreserved sales run on weekdays from 10:00 to 16:30 and collection of reserved orders from 10:00 to 17:00. The office’s longer general opening hours do not extend the gift-card sale window. The distributor warns that large orders may miss a requested collection date and that it does not accept customer-requested changes or cancellations after ordering or purchase. [S02][S04]
JCB’s separate issuer notice also ends JCB-QUO website sales on January 28, 2027 at 17:00, after telephone orders ended on September 30, 2026 at 17:00. Its FAQ, updated September 28, expressly says existing JCB-QUO cards remain usable after sales end. The local notice therefore sits alongside a wider JCB-QUO sales withdrawal; it is not evidence that ordinary QUO cards generally cease to work. [S05][S06]
For JCB and VJA paper gift certificates, the local distributor’s sales deadline is distinct from redemption. Their issuer guides continue to state that the certificates have no expiry date and do not give change. Nissenren’s notice does not set a new use-by date for those already issued. [S01][S07][S08]
The service has catered to personal gifts, business recognition, retirement and long-service awards and golf-event prizes. The sources provide product terms and a closure schedule, but no sales volumes, remaining inventory, distributor commissions or measured shift to another channel. [S02][S04]
