Pedreguer Town Council opened online pre-purchases of its subsidized local gift cards on September 17 and disclosed a network of 34 participating shops and service businesses.

The Spanish municipality's BO CONSUM PEDREGUER 2026 program offers 1,862 physical gift cards issued by Caixa Popular. Each holds EUR150, funded by a EUR60 resident payment and a EUR90 municipal subsidy, according to the council.

The opening marks an operating stage of a program first announced on September 1. The subsidy and card allocation therefore predate the latest milestone; the new development is the start of pre-purchases and confirmation of the merchant network.

The spending balance is funded before redemption

The EUR60 payment and EUR90 public contribution fund different shares of the same EUR150 balance. Residents therefore supply 40% and the municipality 60% of the announced card value. These shares describe the financing rule, not the proportion of the overall allocation already sold.

The two contributions sum to EUR150 of card balance. They are announced per-card terms, not amounts already issued, redeemed or earned by merchants.

The council separates acquiring a card from spending its balance. Pre-purchases run from September 17 to November 17, subject to availability, with physical collection after the online purchase. Redemption is scheduled from October 15 to November 30 at participating businesses.

Balances can be used across more than one purchase and more than one participating merchant. The council says unused value cannot be recovered after the November 30 deadline.

That creates a bank-issued gift-card instrument with a defined local acceptance network and a limited spending period. The disclosed payment and subsidy fund the card's balance rather than applying a percentage discount separately at each checkout.

Eligibility is limited to adult residents registered in Pedreguer on September 1 who meet the program's tax and social-security conditions, with one card per eligible person. The network covers local retail and service businesses rather than unrestricted acceptance at every merchant.

The official materials do not report cards sold, balances redeemed or an economic-impact result. The confirmed milestone is the opening of the acquisition stage, ahead of the later spending window.
