QUO Card has added MARK IS Shizuoka to the places where recipients can spend QUO Card Pay. The issuer announced the shopping-centre addition on October 6, extending the digital gift’s physical retail acceptance. [S01]
The linked merchant listing identifies MARK IS as a Mitsubishi Estate Group shopping-centre brand and expressly excludes some stores. The notice therefore does not establish acceptance at every tenant. It gives no participating-store count, transaction target or commercial terms for the addition. [S02]
Acceptance depends on the product and the store
QUO Card Pay and the physical QUO card have different merchant networks. Recipients holding one product cannot infer that it works everywhere the other is accepted. The issuer also states that QUO Card Pay cannot be used to pay on shopping websites, so this addition concerns purchases at eligible physical stores. [S02]
The merchant page carries a further distinction for balances restricted to particular merchants: some stores inside shopping centres may not accept those dedicated balances even where the common QUO Card Pay balance is available. Checking the relevant store and balance type remains part of the redemption process. [S02]
For organisations distributing digital gifts, additional retail destinations can make an existing balance more useful to recipients. The value of this expansion is the new place to spend it. The announcement provides no usage data showing how many recipients will visit the centre or how much additional value they will redeem.
