Rellevate announced a multiyear licensing and distribution agreement with Richard Petty on January 22, 2021, creating a gift and reward card program built around the NASCAR driver's image. The arrangement covered sales to individual fans as well as businesses using cards for employee recognition and consumer promotions.
The company planned to introduce the Richard Petty Icon Gift Card during January, ahead of the Daytona 500 in February. A separate Richard Petty Icon Reward Card was due to follow through Rellevate's employer network and corporations associated with motorsports. The announcement therefore described both a consumer gift card channel and a corporate incentive distribution channel.
Sutton Bank, a member of the FDIC, was identified as the issuer of the Rellevate Visa Gift Card under a licence from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Rellevate's role in the announcement was the licensed program and distribution partnership; the bank was
