Runa has reported a series of second-quarter 2025 product changes, including reloadable virtual prepaid cards and tokenized repeat Pay to Card payouts. The July 1 update distinguishes features already available from security work being prepared for the following quarter.

Repeat Pay to Card payouts and reloadable prepaid cards

For Pay to Card, recipients of repeat API-based payouts no longer needed to enter their details again, according to Runa. They instead received a confirmation email. The company explicitly limited this update to API orders.

The reloadable offering covered virtual Visa and Mastercard prepaid cards issued through the API or Portal. Runa said senders could add value to an existing card, with top-ups arriving in under 30 minutes, without sending a new redemption link or requiring further recipient action.

Gift card merchants, marketplace tools and funding

The company also reported adding more than 100 merchants across gaming, travel, retail and lifestyle. Listed examples included Roblox, Xbox, Airbnb, Air Canada, Etsy and Adidas.

Runa Shop was presented as a platform for building a branded gift card marketplace without coding, with access to more than 5,000 gift cards. Runa said it would handle payment processing and other operational services; its 24-hour setup description was a company claim rather than an independently timed deployment.

Other available changes included self-service virtual accounts for funding currencies, a clearer Balances page and additional control over sender details and destination links in redemption flows.

Runa Assure work planned for Q3 2025

For Runa Assure, the update described a tested proof of concept and planned Q3 work on anomaly detection, risk-based decisions and automated review workflows. Those enhancements were preparation for later delivery, not a claim that every planned machine-learning capability was already live in Q2.
