Xixona has secured a EUR150,715 provincial contribution for its 2026 local-commerce voucher campaign, with the municipal programme's approved budget set at EUR200,000. The council's September 25 announcement and the same day's approval underpin a new cycle of subsidised spending at businesses associated with AEX. [S01] [S02]
The participating adult residents pay half the face value of each voucher. The rollout offers EUR10 of spending value for EUR5, EUR20 for EUR10, EUR50 for EUR25 and EUR100 for EUR50, according to the Ayuntamiento de Xixona's October 2 update. [S03]
A cap on funded value
The legal notice clarifies a limit that is less precise in the short rollout announcement: a consumer can buy vouchers with a combined face value of up to EUR100, with municipal support capped at EUR50 per applicant. Eligibility is restricted to adults registered in Xixona who have the required identity documentation. [S02]
The Diputación de Alicante's EUR150,715 contribution supports a programme with a total approved appropriation of EUR200,000. The grant and the total budget describe different parts of the funding structure, rather than two separate pools to be added together. [S01] [S02]
Subtracting the disclosed provincial grant from the approved appropriation leaves EUR49,285. This remainder is a budget component, not a separately verified new payer or an additional grant on top of the EUR200,000 total. [S01] [S02]

A locally restricted spending channel
Voucher purchases began on October 1, with redemption at AEX-associated businesses running through November 20. The council also provides appointment-based help for people over 65 who need assistance with the online purchase process. [S03]
The economic mechanism is public co-funding of issued spending value, rather than a merchant voluntarily cutting its own price by half. Acceptance stays within the participating local network, which directs the funded balance toward eligible businesses.
The published denomination pairs show how the public half and resident half create the balance accepted locally. They describe available voucher terms, not the number sold in each tier or a merchant-funded price reduction. [S03]

That design gives merchants access to subsidised purchasing power but does not establish additional turnover. When checked on October 18, the campaign platform said vouchers were sold out and that new availability would be announced. That is a dated availability statement, not a disclosed exhaustion time, redeemed amount or confirmed restock. The sources do not measure spending that would otherwise have occurred. [S04]
