YaTurno expanded gift-card functions for Argentine service businesses on October 1 and 2, 2026. The first update added redemption when an appointment is paid at the counter; the second described selling prepaid services in person or through the merchant’s booking page with Mercado Pago. [S01]

A merchant chooses the expiry, while the gift remains a service entitlement

The official product guide offers four finite validity settings after sale: one, three, six or twelve months. A business can instead choose no expiry and may add one month to a card approaching its deadline. These choices set the time available to book the promised service; they do not disclose how quickly recipients actually redeem. [S02]

These are actual configurable terms, not observed redemption times or a calendar of launch dates. A separate no-expiry option is not plotted as zero or infinity. YaTurno also says merchants may add one month to a card approaching expiry.

Each code covers one appointment. If the gift bundles several services, they must be taken together, with the combining-services setting enabled and a professional able to provide them all. A session pack is a different product that allows a customer to take sessions on separate visits. [S02]

The voucher has no peso balance. The merchant assembles named services at their current combined price, although staff can change the amount charged at the counter. A sold voucher continues to cover those services if prices later rise; extras outside the gift are charged separately. This fixes what the recipient receives rather than promising a cash amount to spend. [S02]

Merchants can send the code by email or WhatsApp, save it as an image or print it. For online sales, they must connect Mercado Pago and publish each gift on their own booking page. The buyer selects an existing bundle, supplies the dedication and pays in one payment. Once payment is credited, the code and booking link arrive by email. The online gift route does not offer bank transfer or Rapipago/Pago Fácil cash payment. [S02]

The gift-card feature is included in the Gratis, Pro and Business plans, and the gift-specific page states that YaTurno takes no sales commission on it. Mercado Pago’s payment-processing fee still applies. The general payments guide separately describes a 4% YaTurno charge on online deposits in the free plan and 0% in paid plans; that deposit pricing is not substituted for the gift-card exception. Cancelling a voucher does not automatically refund its buyer: the merchant must handle any refund that is due. YaTurno’s role is the booking, payment record and gift-code workflow; it describes itself as a service-business platform rather than a marketplace. The dated updates and reviewed product documentation provide no gift-card sales, merchant adoption or redemption dataset. [S01] [S02] [S03]
