YOUGotaGift introduced a limited edition digital gift card for the COP28 climate conference, according to an announcement published on November 26, 2023. The company called the edition Lidunyakhadra and tied it to the United Nations conference scheduled for November 30 to December 12, 2023.

The company presented the card as part of its environmental sustainability work. It argued that digital delivery could reduce reliance on physical gift cards made from PVC or similar plastics, which it described as difficult to accommodate in recycling systems.

Its announcement discussed the environmental footprint of physical cards across manufacturing, packaging and distribution, including their journey through retail outlets to recipients. Those environmental benefits were claims made by YOUGotaGift in support of its digital format.

YOUGotaGift said customers could use the edition across its partner brands in the countries covered by its service, with online and in-store options. The announcement did not describe the card as restricted to purchases connected with the climate conference.

The categories listed included grocery shopping, food delivery, electronics, fashion, children’s products, digital entertainment, restaurants, travel and spa experiences. The company positioned the limited edition as a way for brands and individual buyers to connect gifting with the climate conference.
