Diggecard has detailed a six-week project that added digital redemption to Edenred Italia's Ticket Compliments voucher program. The case study, published on September 20, 2021, describes a response to pandemic store closures that prevented recipients from redeeming vouchers physically.
Edenred Italia used Ticket Compliments for employee rewards, sales incentives and customer loyalty. Diggecard adapted its existing Gift Card Marketplace to give voucher holders access to a private online store of digital gift cards.
The marketplace connected to the virtual wallet inside each user's Edenred account. That allowed the recipient to use Ticket Compliments value directly, with the resulting digital gift cards delivered by email or text message.
Edenred selected 19 brands for the initial portfolio. Diggecard said Zalando accounted for a substantial share of redemptions, without publishing an exact volume or percentage in the case study.
The project launched in November ahead of Christmas after a six-week development period. The account does not specify a year for that November launch, while its September 2021 publication places the project in the preceding pandemic response.
Diggecard said Edenred regarded it as the most successful newly established partner by post-launch volume. That is Edenred's assessment as reported by the provider. Diggecard's marketplace operated as an affiliate within Ticket Compliments and was described as the program's sole digital gift card provider at the time.
The project reused an existing marketplace product and linked it to Edenred's wallet, adding a digital spending route while retaining the voucher program already used by employers and other clients.
