GiftCertificates.ca is set to stop accepting new orders on September 15, 2026, and close on September 30, according to an announcement published by Giftbit. The report gives Canadian businesses using the service for rewards and bulk gift card purchases a timetable for changing providers.

Giftbit said the corporate gifting program had been operated by Givex, which was acquired by Shift4 in 2024. It described the program as operating under the Giftpass brand during the wind-down.

The notice addresses companies using the service for employee rewards, customer incentives and recurring bulk orders. Its timing gives those businesses a period in September to arrange another distribution route before the reported shutdown.

Giftbit is positioning its own platform as one option for affected senders, citing bulk ordering, spreadsheet uploads and API access. The closure dates in this report come from Giftbit’s September 1 notice; the company is also a competitor seeking to serve customers moving away from the program.
