Bitrefill has refreshed its mobile app with changes to gift card access, account navigation and purchase updates. The September 27, 2024 announcement covers an app used for crypto-funded gift cards, eSIMs, phone top-ups and bill payments.
A new Home tab brings favorite brands, recent purchases and the account balance into one view. Users can also follow top-ups, spending and rewards from that area of the application.
The update provides offline access to gift card information, including card numbers, barcodes and QR codes. That makes the details available to present in a store even when the phone cannot connect to the internet.
Bitrefill also describes tracking the remaining balance on each purchased gift card. Notifications provide updates about orders, cashback and promotions, giving users another way to follow activity after a purchase.
The company said the app supported more than 6,000 cryptocurrencies and referenced its Visa card and prepaid Visa and Mastercard options. The announcement specifies that the Bitrefill Visa Card was available only in the European Union, while the prepaid products were limited to certain jurisdictions.
The changes focus on using and monitoring purchases within the mobile application, including keeping the redemption details accessible after a gift card has been delivered.
