Keep The Fees has changed how its software handles gift-card balances and refunds, including safeguards against spending the same remaining value through simultaneous payments.

The company's September 22 release notes [S01] say gift-card and store-credit balances can no longer be overdrawn. Tips funded from either source are now deducted from the available balance.

Refunds to the original payment method also restore a gift card's balance when the invoice has no client profile attached. Related messages now distinguish money returned to a card from money credited to a client's profile. That distinction matters when a business needs to identify where refunded value remains available.

For shop reporting, the release adds loaded but unspent gift-card value to the liability total in Shop Summary. It also corrects the software's recording of gift-card payments as taxable sales, a reporting change described by the vendor.

Keep The Fees [S02] supplies booking and business software for tattoo and piercing studios. Its September release groups roughly 70 fixes and improvements across payments, commissions and other functions.

The notes do not quantify earlier discrepancies or say how many shops were affected. The gift-card changes form one ledger update covering spending, refunds and outstanding value.
