Percent POS has issued two September updates addressing gift-card tipping and balance errors at checkout.

The vendor's release notes [S01] describe an initial maintenance release dated September 4 and made available for download on September 8. It corrects cases in which tips entered on the customer-facing second display were not deducted from a gift-card balance.

The same release addresses an incorrect insufficient-funds response when a tip used exactly the value remaining on the card. It also fixes a gift-card tipping error associated with the Prompt Tip setting.

A follow-up dated September 15, available September 16, tackles an identification problem when the same card is used through different input methods. Previously, a card loaded and validated by magnetic-stripe swipe could show an incorrect balance when subsequently scanned by barcode.

That follow-up also corrects negative refund amounts appearing as zero in the interface. The notes describe a display correction and do not establish that the underlying amount was lost.

Together, the changes address how cashiers and customers see and use available value across tipping, refunds and card-reading methods. Percent POS has not provided figures for affected installations or transactions, and the notices do not report financial losses or a security incident.
