InComm and Playport Gaming Systems have announced a partnership to distribute digital instant-win lottery games through retail payment systems. The agreement gives Playport access to participating locations in a VanillaDirect network approaching 60,000 stores.
The service connects a player’s smartphone with a retailer’s point of sale for purchasing and redeeming games. Playport said its Games2Go platform allows the game reveal to take place on the phone, rather than requiring the entire play experience to remain at the store.
The intended distribution channels include convenience, value and pharmacy retailers. InComm said the technology could extend lottery sales to additional checkout lanes and to stores that had not previously offered lottery products.
The companies also described the model as reducing the need for physical game inventory or extra retail hardware. Playport said its platform could support games branded for individual retailers or lotteries and connect the digital experience with marketing activity.
The partnership combines InComm’s existing checkout integrations with Playport’s game platform. Its stated commercial objective is to broaden retail distribution while giving lottery operators another way to offer instant games through customers’ mobile devices.
