Runa has introduced a revised brand-approval process intended to reduce the work required for customers to access gift cards and other payout products. The company announced the change on May 19, 2023.

Runa said its new engine could automatically approve access to 90% of the brands on its network using customer information already held in its systems. Approval remains dependent on the customer's eligibility for the product.

Some brands still require additional information. Under the revised process, Runa stores the information submitted so customers do not need to provide the same details again for subsequent applications.

Customers can view an application's status in real time and use a product as soon as access is approved. Runa also said qualifying new products would be added automatically to a customer's catalog as the network expands.

The update responds to what Runa described as a slow, manual process involving repeated forms and requests. It connects merchant approval requirements with the customer's existing account information, supporting access to a growing range of brands, countries and payout types.
