Runa has launched Pay to Card, a payout service powered by Visa Direct and Mastercard Send. In its March 10, 2025 announcement, the company described real-time transfers to recipients' bank accounts across a network reaching 190 countries.
The product sits alongside Runa's gift card and other reward options in a single integration. At launch, Runa reported approximately 5,000 gift card options in more than 50 countries, a separate coverage figure from the reach quoted for Pay to Card.
Businesses select Pay to Card in the Runa Portal, enter the amount and currency, and send a payment notification by email. The recipient then supplies their card or bank-account details through the payment flow. The company also said the payouts could be automated through its API.
Runa said existing customers would have access through their current integration. The service includes tracking and payout confirmation so administrators can follow the status of a payment instead of managing the disbursement through a separate provider.
Funding options described in the announcement covered 18 currencies, with Runa FX available for conversion. The company also discussed originating funds from the UK, the United States or Europe and combining domestic and international payouts through its platform.
The release positioned Pay to Card for use cases including freelance payments, overseas employee rewards and customer incentives. Runa presented its security product Runa Assure and 24-hour human support as accompanying services for organizations managing those payouts.
Visa Direct and Mastercard Send provide the payment-network capabilities named in the launch. Runa brings them into the workflow it offers customers for initiating, tracking and administering payouts alongside its other digital reward products.
