The First National Bank in Sioux Falls has included gifting and estate planning in guidance for reviewing personal finances in 2026. The February 3 article, written by Personal Trust Officer Connor Hurley, sets out a sequence from everyday budgeting to longer-term financial decisions.

Hurley starts with understanding income and spending, then setting aside emergency savings. The guide presents three to six months of expenses as a starting point for discussing that reserve, while identifying concrete goals such as retirement, a home purchase, education costs or debt repayment.
