Get The Referral announced a redesigned Advocate Web App on August 12, 2026, bringing its mobile referral and reward experience into the browser. The update includes GTR Wallet balances and guided redemption through gift cards, virtual prepaid cards or bank transfers. [S01]
A reward journey that travels between devices
The company describes the release as a Progressive Web App that works on desktop, tablet and mobile, with the option to add it to a phone’s home screen. Branding and navigation follow the settings already used in the customer’s mobile app. The redesign also includes referral submission and status tracking. [S01]
For a referral programme, continuity matters at two different moments: when a customer recommends a business, and when that customer returns to collect a reward. Those visits may happen on different devices and weeks apart. A consistent route to the balance can make the promised payment easier to locate without changing the underlying reward agreement.
The wallet remains the payout layer
GTR’s wallet documentation identifies XTRM as its payout infrastructure provider. It describes a choice of bank transfer, prepaid cards and more than 150 gift card options, alongside a record of earned and redeemed rewards. The web-app announcement does not identify a new payout provider or a new card-issuing arrangement. [S02]
| Stage | What the update covers |
|---|---|
| Refer | Submit a referral through the browser |
| Follow progress | View referral status across devices |
| Redeem | Access the wallet and choose a supported payout method |
This is a change to access and presentation. A browser interface does not itself establish which reward a particular customer has earned, whether the business has funded it or which redemption conditions apply. Programme rules and wallet records still need to connect those steps.
Migration and the evidence still to come
GTR said existing referral links, QR codes and embedded forms would redirect automatically to the new platform. It published no before-and-after figures for redemption completion, referral conversion or support demand. [S01]
The practical outcome to watch is whether customers can move from an earned reward to a completed redemption with fewer interruptions. That requires actual usage evidence. The release establishes the redesigned route, while any improvement in commercial performance remains a separate question.
