What the designations measured

The Star Performer label reflected improvement across the assessment’s measures of market success and capabilities. It was not a declaration that Inspirus held the highest overall position. Major Contender was the separate classification of its position in the assessment. [S01]

Inspirus attributed the result to product development, its US market presence and customer relationships. The announcement highlighted a digital recognition platform with peer and manager recognition, a shared activity feed and a catalog covering merchandise, gift cards, charitable giving, travel and experiences. Gift cards within a wider recognition programme

That catalog gives gift cards a fulfilment role within a broader employee programme. The initial act of recognition, the communication seen by colleagues and the reward eventually selected are different parts of the experience. A wider choice of rewards does not by itself establish which one employees prefer.

For a buyer, an analyst assessment can help frame questions about a supplier’s capabilities. It does not replace the work of checking the available rewards in each country, implementation responsibilities and ongoing support. The announcement reported the 2023 assessment and disclosed no new contract or measured return on investment from a particular deployment.
