Yoyo Rewards recommends treating WhatsApp as a delivery and engagement channel connected to the retailer’s loyalty data. Its July 15, 2026 guide focuses on enrollment, relevant offers and reminders tied to a customer’s activity.

For sign-up, the company proposes a QR code on receipts, packaging or store signage that opens a WhatsApp conversation. Basic chatbot prompts collect the customer details needed to join, while bank card-linked loyalty can connect subsequent purchases with reward activity.

Personalization in the guide includes complementary offers after a purchase, promotions for customers who bought a particular product, re-engagement based on purchase history and gifts for birthdays or milestones. Yoyo says those messages depend on connected customer records and spending-based segments.

The company also suggests reserving distinct offers for loyalty tiers, such as early access to a sale or seasonal range. Its reorder-reminder approach uses observed purchase intervals and excludes customers who have already reordered.

Another use case is notifying customers before a voucher or reward expires, with a route to online or in-store redemption. Yoyo recommends limiting the frequency of messages and tying each communication to a useful offer, relevant event or available reward.

The technical approach keeps WhatsApp above the existing points ledger, customer-data system and point-of-sale integration. The guide discusses WhatsApp Business API access and real-time data sharing, and recommends collecting marketing consent at enrollment with an audit trail of that consent.
