Factor4 and Evosus announced a gift card partnership on July 30, 2026 for pool, spa and hearth retailers. Physical and digital cards can be sold, redeemed and managed on PAX Aries devices by customers using either Evosus Legacy or LOU, its cloud platform. [S01]
A route into specialist retailers
Factor4 supplies gift card and loyalty processing, with integrations into merchant systems forming a central part of its offer. Evosus supplies business-management software for retailers that also run service operations. The pairing brings card processing into a software relationship those merchants already have. [S01]
LOU combines point of sale with customer accounts, inventory and online orders. This matters in a business where a shop purchase and a later service appointment can involve the same customer. A gift card becomes another payment balance to manage within that operating environment, rather than a separate spreadsheet beside it. [S02]
Evosus's current pricing makes its commercial model explicit: businesses pay for user licences, with different retail and service permissions and optional add-ons. It also allows licences to be adjusted for seasonal demand. Those published software charges are not a price list for the new Factor4 arrangement. [S03]
Why each partner has a reason to participate
Evosus CEO Dan McManus said gift and loyalty capabilities were a recurring client request. Factor4 CEO Dan Battista described the agreement as extending its integrated offer to more merchants. Both spoke about growth and repeat business; neither supplied sales results for this implementation. [S01]
For Evosus, satisfying an existing customer request can make the core software harder to replace: merchants can handle another task without selecting a separate system. For Factor4, one software partnership creates a route to many potential merchant accounts. Those are incentives arising from the distribution model, not disclosed contract targets.
Including Legacy customers broadens that potential base. It means the announced access is not conditional on a move to LOU. Evosus can support customers on different software generations, while Factor4 avoids limiting its addressable audience to the newer platform.
Prepaid spending still has costs to manage
A gift card purchase brings money in before goods are selected, and its recipient may be a new customer for the retailer. The corresponding obligation is to honour the balance accurately across the supported sales channels. Payment processing, fulfilment, customer service and any programme charges affect the economics; prepaid cash should not be confused with profit.
The partners did not disclose their fee split, merchant pricing or adoption numbers. The announced hardware and software coverage is specific, so merchants should not read it as confirmation that every existing device is compatible. The commercial test is whether the integration produces incremental gift sales or repeat visits at a cost the retailer can justify.
