Wesk has introduced gift cards for artisans selling through its French marketplace, giving recipients a balance they can use with an individual maker online or in person. [S01]

The platform announced the feature in its September 28 product update. Buyers can select €20, €30, €50 or €80, or choose another amount, from an artisan's storefront or a gift-card directory that displays nearby artisans. [S01]

The launch adds prepaid gifting to a service built around discovering local makers, their creations and workshops. Wesk is operated by Sébastien Andréa, an individual entrepreneur trading as Informatique des Combrailles, according to the platform's legal notice. [S03]

Announced purchase choices, not a continuous range, merchant sales or a live stock check. The card is tied to the chosen artisan. A custom amount is allowed, so these four presets are not the complete set of permitted values.

The balance is redeemable with the artisan for whom the card was purchased. Recipients enter a code at Wesk checkout for online purchases, while an artisan can deduct a used amount at a market stand or workshop when their platform plan includes local presence. The announcement says a recipient can spend the balance in one transaction or across several. [S01] [S02]

That gives a small merchant a gifting product spanning both a digital storefront and face-to-face selling. The buyer selects the maker while the recipient chooses the purchase, a useful distinction for artisans whose individual pieces or workshop availability can change. [S01]

Wesk's terms specify that an online gift-card payment covers the price of the pieces, with delivery charges paid separately. A cancelled or refunded purchase credits the corresponding amount back to the card. The terms set a 12-month validity period and describe a 14-day withdrawal period while a purchased card remains unused. [S02]

Payment responsibilities and fees remain distinct at each stage

Wesk says sales are concluded between the artisan and the buyer, with the artisan receiving payment through a Stripe account opened in their own name. The platform's terms say Wesk does not hold the transaction funds or become the seller. [S02]

Its stated commission for vouchers is 5%, with payment-provider charges and the platform commission covered by service fees shown to the buyer before payment. The gift-card provisions apply that purchase-fee structure to cards but specify that no service fee or commission applies to the portion of a subsequent purchase paid with a card. This separates the sale of prepaid value from its later redemption. [S02]

Actual stated rules for two transaction stages. The 5% base is the card purchase price; the 0% rule covers only the part of later spending paid by the card. Payment-provider charges and subscription fees are excluded. This is not an all-in-cost comparison, merchant profit margin or a guarantee that any cash-funded remainder has no fee.

The later redemption exemption covers only the amount paid with the card. The purchase-stage service charge remains: Wesk says it covers its 5% commission and Stripe’s published processing tariff. The conditions updated on October 18 are a current policy snapshot; they do not establish that every clause had identical wording at the September launch. [S02]

The same September 28 update introduced payment online followed by collection at one of an artisan's next three markets. That is a separate fulfillment feature, but it shows the operational setting in which the new cards will be used: small businesses moving between shipped orders, workshops and temporary retail locations. [S01]

Wesk has not published gift-card sales figures or a merchant participation total in the announcement. The disclosed change establishes the product and its redemption rules; it does not yet demonstrate how much additional business gifting will bring to the platform. [S01]
