Diggecard and Irish gifting business Unique Hampers have established a gift card hub in Ireland to serve Irish and European customers. Announced on May 1, 2025, the partnership combines Diggecard's technology with physical card delivery, warehousing and stock replenishment from Unique Hampers' base in Kildare.
The gift card hub in Ireland marks another growth step in Diggecard's ongoing investment in the Irish gift card market, which started in 2021 with the relocation of Diggecard's Head of Strategic Partnerships and Country Manager, Maria Boyle. During this time, Diggecard has developed a strong customer base and robust business in the territory, fully managing gift card programs for well-known retail brands including River Island, Moss, TK Maxx, Homesense, and LEGO.
Diggecard has also worked with Countdown Ireland, the leading provider of benefit, loyalty, and incentive programs, to relaunch this well-loved business. Tom Tansey, Irish License/Countdown, stated that Diggecard has supported them throughout the process and has put together a great range of retail gift cards and built the platform to host these on behalf of Countdown Ireland.
Unique Hampers also owns Christmas2u, a Christmas savings club. Diggecard says a client-supplier relationship that began three years earlier has developed into a partnership generating multi-million euro sales. Maria Boyle, Diggecard's Head of Strategic Partnerships, links the expansion to demand for gift cards in corporate rewards, incentives and benefits in Ireland.
Physical fulfillment and digital gift card sales
The gift card hub in Ireland will allow retail, leisure, and hospitality brands to manage physical gift card delivery to Irish consumers and businesses effectively, as well as manage gift card stock replenishment to their stores and sites in Ireland in a more cost and time-effective manner. It will also enable brands to access the growing Irish B2B gift card market by selling and distributing gift cards to Irish businesses looking for rewards, incentives, benefits, and promotions.
Diggecard describes an Irish base within the European Union as useful for addressing customs and delivery arrangements across Europe. Businesses can order multiple gift card brands together, send physical cards in bulk to one address or arrange individual deliveries with personal messages.
The wider offer includes digital gift cards and branded consumer sales websites for retailers and hospitality businesses. Diggecard says it can establish a client-branded website in six weeks, with options for video messages, uploaded images and scheduled delivery.
Lorraine Keenan, a director of Unique Hampers, said the partnership brings the two companies' expertise and local market knowledge together as they develop the business in Ireland and Europe.
