Giftify and ByQwest have announced a partnership aimed at giving shopping-centre gift-card programmes a more flexible issuing and processing foundation. The company-supplied announcement is dated October 16 and was distributed through openPR on October 22. It sets out an infrastructure agreement, without naming a first centre migration or a new card available to shoppers. [S1]
Giftify S.A. is based in Brussels and specialises in shopping-centre gift-card programmes. Its platform covers card distribution, transactions, reconciliation and programme reporting. ByQwest supplies infrastructure for creating, managing and processing cards. The agreement is intended to connect those operating layers; the release does not disclose its value, pricing or exclusivity terms. [S1] [S2]
Giftify says its platform serves more than 500 centres. Both physical and digital cards are already part of its offer, and its existing product pages already describe wallet support, geographic controls and APIs. The partnership’s stated ambitions include more sophisticated card propositions, real-time controls and configurable acceptance rules. These should be read as development aims, rather than proof that the agreement has just introduced every listed feature. [S1] [S3] [S4]
Giftify’s own earlier research shows the variety of purchase channels that this type of infrastructure must support. In a survey conducted for the company, shopping-centre gift-card users reported buying through service desks, websites, apps and self-service vending machines. The figures describe how respondents bought a card; buying online does not establish that the card itself was digital. [S5]
