Chile’s Municipalidad de Quirihue has awarded Sociedad de Confecciones Cler Limitada a CLP 19.656 million contract for 252 Ripley gift cards supporting students through the Pro-Retención school-retention programme. The award decree is dated September 25 and was reported on Mercado Público on September 29. [S01]

Each card carries CLP 100,000 of purchasing value. Cler’s accepted unit price is CLP 78,000, separating the municipality’s purchase cost from the balance available to students. The 252 balances therefore represent CLP 25.2 million of retail spending capacity; that calculation does not establish how much recipients have redeemed. [S01]

The successful offer specifies clothing and footwear purchases at Ripley stores and Ripley.com, excluding marketplace products. The supplier beat two competing bids for Cencosud cards priced at CLP 83,000 and CLP 84,000 per unit. Neither competing offer received an award. [S01]
