stc pay Bahrain plans to offer gift-card purchases through a new physical self-service network supplied by Diebold Nixdorf, adding an in-person access point to its mobile-first financial services. Gift cards are one of the transaction types explicitly named in the October 8 agreement announcement. [S01]
The project will use DN Series cash recyclers and DN Vynamic software, with some devices including Interactive Teller Machine kits. Diebold Nixdorf announced the agreement at Fintech Forward 2026 in Bahrain.
Gift cards join a broader transaction menu
The planned devices will also support wallet top-ups, remittances, bill payments and other services, according to the issuer release. The gift-card development is an additional purchase channel within that network, rather than a claim that stc pay Bahrain is introducing its first-ever gift-card service. [S01]
The release does not identify card brands, denominations, fees or whether a particular gift purchase will be funded with cash, a wallet balance or another payment route. A cash-capable machine alone does not establish the funding options for every service on its menu.
The existing app marketplace gives useful product context. Its public FAQ, checked on October 18, lists Apple cards for the US and UK stores, and PlayStation cards for Bahrain, the US, UAE and Saudi Arabia. These are territory-specific variants of two brands, not a count of brands or proof that every variant will be offered by the new devices. [S02]

Published kiosk tariffs do not establish deployment
Vynamic software is intended to connect physical devices to the wallet’s digital services and payment infrastructure. Almoayed Group WLL is named as the local deployment and technical-support partner. [S01]
The announcement uses prospective installation language and supplies no device count, addresses or go-live timetable. It therefore establishes the supplier agreement and planned gift-card capability, without proving that customers can already complete a gift-card purchase at a live machine.
A separate tariff dated August 13 already contains a kiosk schedule. It lists fixed wallet-funding charges of BHD 0.100 plus 10% VAT for local debit cards and Benefit Pay QR, and BHD 0.200 including VAT for cash. The table below puts these fixed charges on the same VAT-inclusive basis. The schedule lists no service fee for buying a digital gift card, but the card face value and any applicable wallet-funding charge remain separate. Published tariffs are evidence of service pricing, not confirmation that the October Diebold rollout is operating; fees may also be waived during promotions. [S03]

These are wallet-funding charges, not gift-card purchase surcharges or measured transaction costs. The percentage-based credit-card route is excluded. The tariff does not confirm installation or acceptance at the planned Diebold devices.

stc pay Bahrain says broader physical access will give customers more choice and support financial inclusion. Those are the company’s objectives; the announcement reports no transaction volume, gift-card sales or independently measured customer outcome.
