WeGift has introduced Runa as the next stage of its digital payout business. The March 30, 2023 announcement sets out an expansion from its gift card foundations toward a wider network for sending and exchanging digital value.
Runa said it was adding gift card brands and categories alongside payout options such as subscriptions, charitable donations, prepaid cards, cryptocurrencies and shares. These additions form part of the direction described for the business as it broadens the types of value available to customers and partners.
The announcement also identifies new currencies and countries, foreign exchange capabilities, improved reporting and changes to the redemption process. Payout Links are a central part of the recipient experience, allowing the person receiving a reward to decide how and where to use it.
Runa frames the expansion around businesses that need to distribute different kinds of digital value through connected infrastructure. For recipients, its stated objective is to make that value easier to receive and exchange for an option they want.
The company described the new identity as building on WeGift's existing network and services. Its announcement combines the rebrand with a product-development direction spanning rewards, incentives and broader digital payouts.
