Bitrefill’s June 9, 2025 guide described buying Bill Fairies gift-card value with cryptocurrency and then redeeming the code to fund Australian BPAY bills. It claimed access to more than 20,000 bills. The guide’s price example was AUD 10 of gift value for AUD 10.33, including a 3.3% fee. [1]

The purchase fee and bill eligibility need dated terms

The distributor product reviewed on October 19, 2026 states a 6% sender fee included in the gift-card price. Its terms say that fee does not apply to recipients. The chart compares those two published rates; the source pages do not establish when the distributor’s quoted rate changed or the final cost of any completed transaction. [1] [2]

Bill Fairies’ own terms, labelled last updated November 18, 2025, state a service fee of 3% plus GST unless otherwise agreed in writing. They also permit payment-method fees and say fees are disclosed at purchase. That issuer-wide wording and the distributor’s specific 6% quote should remain distinct. The product summary says an included fee reduces the redeemed amount, so the displayed package amount should not be treated as net bill-paying value without checking the applicable purchase terms. Eligibility has a similarly important qualification. The old guide discusses paying credit-card bills, but the current Bitrefill product excludes them, along with gambling and adult services. Bill Fairies’ terms also exclude credit cards and other discretionary services unless it agrees otherwise in writing. The archived guide therefore cannot establish that a credit-card bill is payable under today’s standard conditions. [1] [2] [3]

The operating steps remain separate: Bitrefill supplies the purchase and code; the recipient activates the voucher with Bill Fairies and enters a BPAY biller code, customer reference and payment amount. Bill Fairies’ terms say valid instructions are processed within two business days, while the bill provider’s own processing and fees remain separate. Instant code delivery does not mean instant settlement of a bill. [2] [3]

The issuer’s terms make vouchers non-reloadable and give them 36 months from purchase, including after activation. No completed-payment dataset or customer savings study accompanies the reviewed sources. The product shows how gift-card distribution can fund a bill-payment account, but its fee, permitted bills and remaining usable balance require the correct channel’s current terms. [3]
