Toggle has connected its hospitality gift-card platform to me&u's mobile checkout, allowing participating venues to accept prepaid balances within the same screen customers use to pay for their orders. The partnership brings gift-card redemption into an existing payment journey while leaving the underlying gift-card business with Toggle. [S01] [S02]

The announcement, dated September 18, concerns venues using both systems. me&u lists the integration for the United Kingdom, across its Order & Pay and Multi-vendor products. Neither company has disclosed how many venues have enabled it or named a launch customer. [S01] [S02]

Programme responsibilities, pricing and checkout operations

The public commercial options provide context for operators evaluating the connection. With one location selected, Toggle displays fixed fees of £100 for Essentials, £125 for Plus and £195 for Expert. Its service terms specify monthly advance payments and exclude VAT. These are platform plan prices; the partners have not published an integration-specific charge or revenue share. [S06] [S09]

Toggle began in 2018 and describes itself as a sister business to Airship. Based in Sheffield, it supplies hospitality operators with online stores and technology for selling and managing gift cards and experiences. Its role begins before a restaurant visit, when someone buys value that a guest will later redeem. [S05]

me&u operates closer to the point of consumption: its products handle ordering, payment and other elements of a venue's guest experience. The partnership extends where a Toggle balance can be spent without transferring the entire programme to the ordering provider. [S02]

For a venue already using mobile ordering, a gift card that requires a separate staff intervention creates an exception to the normal payment process. Toggle says the connection reduces manual handling and does not require extra hardware. Those are the company's stated operational benefits; it has not published measured staff-time savings or conversion results for this integration. [S01]

The commercial logic is that both suppliers can make their existing products more useful to a shared customer. That is an analysis of the documented product arrangement, not evidence of additional revenue or a disclosed account of management's negotiations. [S02]

For operators, accepting prepaid value is only part of the opportunity. Customers can combine a gift-card balance with another payment method when an order costs more than the card holds. That accommodates spending above the prepaid amount, although the companies have not demonstrated an increase in average spend from this partnership. Unspent value remains on the
