Toolstation’s gift card programme, announced on 27 August 2026, connected more than 590 UK branches with its website and app through Edenred Payment Solutions. The provider says integration, card manufacture and store rollout took eight weeks. A gift buyer can fund a future purchase while leaving the choice of tools to the recipient. [S01]
The UK trading backdrop predates the gift-card launch
Travis Perkins reported on 4 August that Toolstation UK was growing in a difficult market. Its quarterly total revenue growth remained positive in the first half of 2026, but below the corresponding growth rates reported for 2025. These figures establish the retailer’s position before the August announcement; they cannot measure the new programme’s results. [S03][S06]

Toolstation UK’s first-half adjusted operating profit rose to £22 million from £21 million, while its operating margin reached 5.8%. Those UK figures must remain separate from the wider group: Travis Perkins’ first-half revenue fell 1.8% to £2.258 billion. The parent also stressed working capital discipline and selective investment ahead of a market recovery. [S03][S06]
A gift card adds an occasion to buy from that established business, potentially bringing in someone who is choosing a present rather than sourcing materials for a job. Additional revenue is not established simply by loading prepaid value. The relevant evidence would be who buys the cards, how recipients spend them and whether purchases would otherwise have occurred. Neither the launch release nor the pre-launch financial results answers those questions. [S01][S06]
The actual product links a gift budget to Toolstation’s checkout
Toolstation’s current e-gift product offers eight preset amounts, plus a custom-value option. The published terms allow £1 to £500. Physical cards are bought at store tills, while digital cards are bought through the website or app and delivered by email to the buyer or recipient. The values below are observed product choices, not an estimate of customer demand. [S02][S07]
