Ultra Voucher has outlined an October expansion of its requirement to fund brand-voucher purchases through Ultra Value, the stored balance used in its Indonesian marketplace. Its September 25, 2026 notice places another group of catalogue products in a fourth-quarter rollout, following an earlier group dated to July. [1]

Existing balances underpin the new checkout requirement

Ultra Value already had a measurable balance-sheet presence before the policy notice. PT Trimegah Karya Pratama, the operator, reported UV Mobile customer advances of IDR 21.74 billion at December 31, 2025 and IDR 31.33 billion at June 30, 2026. Both reports explicitly define that item as deposits and top-ups of end users’ Ultra Value balances through the app. [3] [4]

These are outstanding balances at two dates, not the amount loaded or spent during either period. They cover the reported UV Mobile balance item rather than only gift-card conversions. Because both observations precede the checkout announcement, they cannot show that the new requirement caused growth or that recipients preferred one redemption route.

The October list includes MAP Club Gift Voucher, Google Play Voucher and PlayStation alongside restaurant and retail brands. The notice gives no individual migration dates or confirmation that the entire list has switched. It applies the covered-purchase requirement across the app and online store while retaining multiple payment methods for buying the Ultra Voucher Gift Card itself. [1]

Customers can fund Ultra Value through methods including QRIS, virtual accounts, e-wallets and credit cards, and can top up within checkout when their balance is insufficient. The company says spending Ultra Value carries no additional service fee, but funding may incur payment or delivery charges. No numerical fee schedule is supplied, so fee savings cannot be calculated from this notice. [1]

The October 8 digital gift-card instructions explain how gifting connects to the balance. A recipient chooses either direct redemption at a participating merchant’s cashier or conversion into Ultra Value for subsequent marketplace use. The selection cannot be changed after confirmation. [2]

Direct cashier redemption requires no Ultra Voucher account and generates a QR code or barcode for one transaction. Conversion to Ultra Value requires an account: the recipient enters its phone number and confirms where to send the value. The instructions point to a merchant list rather than promising acceptance everywhere. [2]

For organisations distributing rewards, the card offers different recipient journeys while the marketplace policy changes how covered vouchers are paid for. The accounting evidence shows that the balance existed at scale before those instructions; it does not establish a new gift-card launch, the share of recipients taking either route, or an improvement in checkout performance.
