Keihan Hotels & Resorts has introduced digital gifts for THE THOUSAND KYOTO and Kyoto Century Hotel using Giftee’s eGift System. Giftee and the hotel’s public product page identify September 10, 2026 as the start of sales. The announced range covers 22 ticket types and eight outlets, including stays, restaurant meals and afternoon tea. Purchasers can pay by credit card and receive a gift immediately. [S01]

Stay gifts turn a room category into a specified purchase

The store lists six accommodation gifts, from ¥50,000 for a Kyoto Century Hotel Grand Comfort room to ¥300,000 for an assigned suite at THE THOUSAND KYOTO. Each current product page specifies one room for two adults with breakfast. These are different products: the price spread does not measure a discount against an ordinary booking or the relative value of equivalent rooms.

Recipients must telephone to reserve at least three days before their stay. Golden Week, the year-end period, full dates and other hotel exclusions can prevent use. The current individual stay pages say their displayed prices include consumption tax and a 15% service charge, while Kyoto accommodation tax is payable at the hotel. Tickets expire at the end of the month five months after purchase.

There are two documentary qualifications. The hotel’s September 10 PDF carries a September 3 sales-start entry in its summary, although its headline and the current hotel webpage support September 10. The PDF and hotel overview also describe gift prices as non-taxable, whereas the individual stay conditions describe included tax and service charge. The chart transcribes advertised amounts without adding tax or resolving those inconsistent descriptions.

Shared monetary gifts preserve choice within the two hotels

The ordinary monetary tickets sell for their face values of ¥5,000, ¥10,000 and ¥30,000. They can be used in ¥1,000 increments for eligible on-site payments, including stays, restaurants and THE THOUSAND SPA. The product pages permit use when settling eligible external-site bookings or preferential plans, but ticket purchase or use does not create an additional discount or points award.

These tickets also expire at the end of the month five months after purchase. Redemption requires a smartphone to scan the venue’s code; tablets are excluded. The terms provide no cash refund or change. The announced hometown-tax range includes higher monetary values of ¥60,000, ¥90,000, ¥150,000 and ¥300,000, but those are reward face values, not stated donation amounts. [S01]

The hotels retain a physical presentation option alongside gifts sent as a URL: a printed QR ticket in an optional wooden box, advertised separately at ¥1,000. Both routes use the digital redemption system. Giftee says this centralizes issuance and usage records and reduces collection, sorting and aggregation work; no measured cost or workload reduction was disclosed. [S01]

PaymentNavi’s September 14 report separately describes the two-property deployment and immediate credit-card purchase. It supplies no contract value, sales forecast or redemption results. Coverage should therefore remain limited to the announced two Kyoto hotels, rather than the operator’s wider portfolio, and the commercial result is a hotel-operated gift store with documented product terms, not demonstrated incremental demand.
