Pathward announced on March 3, 2026 that Monitor had selected it as a Community Impact honouree in its 2026 Best Companies in Equipment Finance programme. The recognition highlights employee volunteering and charitable giving at a bank that also sponsors gift, loyalty and other prepaid card programmes. [S01][S04]

The award is a 2026 development, while the principal activity figures concern fiscal 2025. Pathward reported nearly 5,000 volunteer hours and support for more than 180 organisations during that earlier period. Keeping those dates separate makes clear what was recognised and when the underlying work took place. [S01]

How the giving programmes work

Pathward describes several routes for employees to support nonprofits. Matching Gifts increases the value of an employee donation through an employer contribution, subject to an annual maximum. Dollars for Doers links a donation to hours spent volunteering. These are charitable-giving mechanisms; the bank does not describe them as gift card distributions. [S03]

Eligible employees can also use 16 hours of paid volunteer time each year. Direct corporate contributions and an internal benefit through which staff can request support for eligible nonprofits sit alongside these employee-led programmes. [S03]

What the award profile adds

Monitor's profile identifies financial education as one strand of the programme. It reports more than 140 employee volunteer hours supporting Financial Fundamentals in fiscal 2025, alongside practical assistance such as refurbished laptops and scholarships. These examples describe the activities behind the headline figures. [S02]

The profile also reports 69% participation in Pathward's community impact platform. That is a participation measure, not evidence that each participating employee volunteered or that an equivalent share of customers gained financial access. Monitor does not publish enough detail in the profile to reconstruct the denominator or independently assess every claimed benefit. [S02]

Catherine McGlown, who oversees communications, sustainability and public policy at Pathward, linked the recognition to employee participation and the bank's financial-access mission in the announcement. [S01]

The connection to the prepaid industry

Pathward's issuing business covers gift cards, loyalty and reward products, general-purpose reloadable cards and corporate disbursements, among other uses. Its community programmes provide a view of the institution behind those payment relationships. They do not change the terms, acceptance or protections of any individual card programme. [S04]

For industry readers, the useful distinction is between resources committed, participation recorded and benefits ultimately achieved. Donations and volunteer hours establish the scale of reported activity. Assessing lasting effects on financial capability or access would require outcome measures beyond the award announcement.
