QUO Card Pay became available at all stores operated by Kyoto Co-op, Nara Co-op and Co-op Shiga on September 15, 2026, according to the issuer’s announcement. The rollout extends the smartphone gift’s acceptance across three neighbouring Japanese prefectures. It concerns QUO Card Pay and does not establish matching acceptance of the physical QUO card. Published store networks give the rollout a concrete scale

The announcement does not give a combined location count. Separately, Kyoto Co-op’s employer profile, updated July 17, reports 18 supermarkets; Nara Co-op’s organisation profile dated March 31 reports 10 stores; and Co-op Shiga’s 2026 CSR report identifies four fixed stores. These published operating-network totals help explain the scale of the participating merchants, while retaining each source’s date and scope. [S02][S03][S04]

The data behind the story

The three cooperatives’ published fixed-store networks

The sources have different reference dates: Kyoto profile updated July 17, 2026; Nara organisation profile as of March 31, 2026; Shiga FY2025 activity report with organisation data as of March 20, 2026. These are fixed-store network sizes, not a same-day count of open checkouts, mobile shops, online stores, new openings, transactions or active users.

Shiga’s report names Zeze, Moriyama, Katata and Nagahama and describes its mobile shop separately. Nara’s current directory also distinguishes fixed stores from mobile and online services, and lists a planned Taima store for spring 2028. Planned locations and mobile services are not added to the chart. The totals should not be read as a guarantee that every listed shop is open at a particular time. [S03][S04][S05]

Recipients open the delivered URL on a smartphone and present the payment screen. QUO Card says this does not require a dedicated app, bank-account registration or credit-card details. Cash can generally cover a shortfall, subject to merchant exceptions. Its current Shiga acceptance page explicitly excludes web-store payments and warns that temporary unavailability or some shopping-centre locations can affect use. Those checkout conditions remain separate from the size of the cooperative network. [S01][S06]

Payment Navi’s September 16 report separately covered the same all-store launch. It does not provide transaction or redemption results. The cooperatives’ own organisation and operating disclosures establish their store networks, rather than independently measuring the issuer’s rollout or the number of recipients who use it. [S02][S03][S04][S07]

For organisations distributing incentives, employee benefits, shareholder gifts or assistance through QUO Card Pay, the expansion adds everyday grocery-shopping destinations in the three prefectures. The issuer does not disclose the merchants’ financial participation terms, expected incremental issuance, actual redemptions or sales attributable to the rollout. Store availability is an acceptance measure, and those commercial outcomes remain unreported. [S01]
