Norwegian restaurant Renaa introduced Diggecard's gift card solution in 2019, according to a case study published by the provider in November 2021. The restaurant, described in the study as holding two Michelin stars at that time, wanted customers to be able to give its dining experience as a gift.

Diggecard said the solution was installed on Renaa's website within one or two hours. It brought gift card design, sales, payment, redemption and reporting into the restaurant's programme, allowing the team to manage the product and follow its performance.

Customers buying a digital card could add a personalised video or image for the recipient. Scheduled delivery allowed them to choose the date and time the gift would arrive, supporting purchases made in advance of an occasion.

The case study also describes a physical presentation option offered before Christmas 2020: customers could have the gift card wrapped and signed by the chef. That campaign used the gift card as part of the restaurant's customer experience and marketing activity.

Renaa sought another revenue stream, a route to new diners and a way to meet existing customers' gifting requests. The study describes the implementation and these uses without providing a quantified sales result for the restaurant's programme.
