GiftCrowd is encouraging families, friends and classmates to pool graduation gifts through its digital collection platform. In an April 2025 guide, the company describes a process in which contributors fund one gift and the graduate chooses how to spend it across participating retailers.
An organizer creates a collection page, chooses a delivery date and shares its link with other contributors. When the collection closes, the graduate receives the pooled gift alongside messages from those who took part. The organizer can contribute but does not have to.
According to GiftCrowd, contributions can start at $2, and the platform allows contribution amounts to remain private. Contributors can add written greetings, photographs or videos, combining the financial gift with personal messages.
The company said its catalog offered more than 450 brands at the time of the guide. Recipients can select gift cards for one retailer or divide their balance among several, including options for technology, travel, clothing, food and home goods.
GiftCrowd presents the same arrangement as suitable for high school and college graduations, professional certifications and other academic milestones. It says the service is free to use, while leaving individual contribution amounts to each participant rather than requiring a fixed share.
